DeAzha: Because you’re so passionate sometimes it will give you butterflies, sometimes you will be nervous, sometimes you will want to give up, sometimes you will feel everything is aligning and feels just right, that is all apart of the journey of Entrepreneurship. It is far from easy, especially in Bermuda. However, on those hard days your love for what you do will prevail above all, which is why it’s so important to LOVE what you do.
I always encourage people who are about to embark on the journey to ensure they are doing it for the right reasons. Behind the pretty pictures and success stories, starts with mistakes, lots of lessons, lots of blood, sweat and tears, long nights, long days, no sleep, mind consumption, because honestly and truly it’s like your baby. It takes over your life (as you have seen in flesh.) You pour your all into it, and the results will follow in due time.
It’s important to trust the process, embrace the journey, because without it the wins won’t feel as good and rewarding as they do and it builds character. Take time to reflect on the mistakes and lessons too, they shape your brand to be better moving forward. Be a sponge, learning never stops. Invest in yourself and your brand, it’s the best thing you can do for you and the business. Think BIG from the very beginning, never shrink your success to just the island of Bermuda, your name will be in rooms you haven’t even entered yet, so claim that, be confident in that. I always say nothing my name will be attached too will be mediocre, it’s the little things, the signature details, that sets you apart.
There are soooo many things I’ve learned along the 6 years that I can teach you and guide you through, you know I’m always a call or ride away, just tap in!
One thing I also always always tell people is you can’t pour from an empty cup! (And remind myself to take my own advice.) So don’t forget self along this journey, as I said it can consume you, but you have to ground yourself and take time for yourself as the more you pour into yourself the more you can pour into the things you love. An empty cup, is simply that. An empty mind, heart, all of those things! And you can’t be the best version of yourself when you forget self, and the results will mimic that. So in this journey, don’t forget the importance of you, and taking time for yourself as well, sometimes you have to shut your mind off to show up better the next day for you most importantly and then your clients as well.
